The work of Leitrim County Childcare Committee is overseen, lead and monitored by a Board of Management. Leitrim County Childcare Committee is a Company Limited by Guarantee funded by the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth to support the implementation of the National Childcare Programmes at a local level.
Leitrim County Childcare Committee was established in May 2001 and is made up of representatives from various sectors, social partners, community / voluntary agencies, provider representatives and parent representatives, all of whom have an interest in the development and provision of early years and school aged childcare in County Leitrim.
Chairperson / Director
Has worked in childcare for over 20 years, as a private provider. Has expert knowledge of local childcare provision / early years regulations / compliance.
Treasurer / Director (Leitrim Development Company)
Has expertise in the areas of Community / Rural Development. Currently the CEO of Leitrim Development Company.
Secretary / Director (Early Years Community Provider)
Represents Local Community Childcare Provision. Has worked in the Preschool Community Childcare Provision for over 20 years and has expert knowledge of early year regulations/ compliance.
Assistant Treasurer / Director (Special Needs Provider)
Has over 20 years experience of working in the childcare sector. Currently Manager of a Local Child Disability Service in Co Leitrim.
Director (Public Participation Network)
An active member of Leitrim Public Participation Network. Also has years of voluntary experience working with young people.
Director (School Aged Community Provider
Expert knowledge of local community school age childcare provision. Has over 20 years experience of early years care and school age care provision.
Committee Member (Leitrim Sports Partnership)
Employed by Leitrim County Council, Sports Partnership as Sports and Recreation Co-ordinator.
Director (Early Years Private Provider / Child-minder)
Expert knowledge of Home Based Childcare Provision / Early Years Regulations / Compliance.
